  • Address: Hwy 7 East Markham, ON
    Rating: 2

Speed limit on hwy 7 each of 9th Line has recently been decreased from 70-80km/hr down to 60 km/hr both directions. This is absurd as it is 2 lanes both directions (4 lanes total) and you are literally just entering Markham. The police sit and 'fish' for speeders on one of 2 entrances to the Cornell development on the north side. I see them every day when I go into work at about 3-4pm and also Saturdays both going in and returning from work! I have not been ticketed but see many motorists targeted all the time. Shameful, when there are intersections just westbound that have chronic red light runners and no cops around there to do anything!

  • Address: Birchmount Road Markham, ON L6G 1B3, Canada

The southbound bike lane on Birchmount from Enterprise Blvd to Royal Crest Ct. is filled with large and fine gravel from nearby construction sites.Either the municipality or the construction companies should keep the bike lane free of debris.

This is where the 407 joins with the 404 North bound. the HOV lane ends and so does the Right lane causing a bottle neck! The on ramp from the 407 should be reduced to one lane and that right lane on the 404 north should continue, because those drivers are always waiting to the last second to change lanes instead of taking available space earlier causing everyone to slowdown, making thousands of commuters ride home that much longer, I believe changing the painted lines to favor the 404 highway instead of the 407 (on ramp) would save us all 20 minutes by getting rid of that bottle neck

There are various potholes in the right lane when making right turn from bullock onto highway 7. These potholes seem to have arose from scrapping due to the changing weather conditions. Please fix them! Thank you in advance!

  • Address: 7029-7057 Markham Road Markham, ON L3S 0C2, Canada
    Rating: 2

Markham road above stills all the way to Markham Village is full of deep potholes on all lanes. The count is in hundreds so any crew driving there will easily identify them without having a precise location. It's extremely damaging to cars and also creates dangerous situations and lots of traffic due to sudden breaking. Please fix them. Thank you

Going North on Essna Park past Steeles Ave East. the first light (IBM drive) has a sequence where the traffic going north has a green light which turns yellow then red. At the same time the light continues to be green for southbound traffic. People get stuck in teh intersection on yellow and then complete the left turn, unaware that the southbound traffic continues to have a green light. This is very dangerous and causes accidents and near misses.

  • Address: 90 Donnamora Cres Thornhill, Ontario

There are also sizable knuckles developing at the bus stop on the NW corner of Finch and Leslie. Question: does the TTC not report these problems to the city? BTW, should the link not be ../yourtoronto/.. rather than ../news/..? Jan Godschalk

There is a piece of metal flashing on the bridge road going westbound that is sticking up and could easily damage car tires. I reported this to Toronto 311 a while back but was told this is Markham's jurisdiction. Called Markham and was told it was City of Toronto (!). So no one took responsibility.

  • 01/09/16--19:29: Church Bells
  • Address: Lebarr Rd Markham
    Rating: 7

the bells on the empty cathedral has been ringing every 3 hours from 9am-9pm since Friday March 8th (and yes, it does include weekends). VERY disruptive at night. the cathedral is not in use and the city bylaw officer told me it's not against any bylaw because the bylaw doesn't specifically say CHURCH BELLS. the bells plays a little song at 12 noon and 6pm and lasts more than 5 min. the sound of the bells are so loud that it resonates in the house. the city bylaw does have laws against bells and gongs ringing, but when i called the city bylaw office, they told me that the bylaw is designed for industrial properties and there are no bylaws against churches.
